  1. Go to the shelter, that’s where I got mine.

  2. You should go to a shelter there are so many kittens that are unwanted and need a good home. There must be a black cat there you could find.

  3. Soliciting on the internet?! For all we know, you are one of those horrible, cruel persons looking to get cats so you can then turn around and either sell them as bait to train fighting dogs and be torn apart, or sell them to a lab for experimentation, all the while undergoing horrendous tortures without any anesthesia. Or you could be a member of some strange cult that sacrifices black cats. NO WAY would I ever consider anyone soliciting on the internet!

Cats need more than “plenty of love.” Do you have the financial resources to properly care for another pet? When is the last time you had your dog’s teeth cleaned? What about spaying or neutering? Can you afford yearly exams ($ 65), teeth cleanings for both animals ($ 250 each) and immunizations ($ 100) for each? Don’t ‘bite off more than you can chew.’

Also, if you get a kitten, are you prepared to clean up the piles of pee and poop until he or she becomes housebroken? Sure, your 13-year old “really wants” a black cat. That’s today. Tomorrow he or she will want something else. Kids are notorious for short attention spans, bursts of whimsy, and quickly getting bored. Will the 13-year old become bored with the black cat and lose interest? Who then will bear the responsibility of caring for the animal? Remember, this is a LIFETIME COMMITTMENT and not to be taken lightly.

Why must the cat be given away? If you cannot even afford to pay the nominal fee that the Humane Societies and rescue organizations are paying, then you certainly cannot afford to give proper, responsible care to any animal! The initial fee is nothing compared to the MAINTENANCE! Don’t be foolish and irresponsible like so many persons who rush out and get an animal, then come onto Yahoo Answers whining that they “can’t afford to take my pet to the vet.” That, of course, is baloney. It’s all a question of priorities.

And why would you solicit getting a cat on the internet? If I were a person considering adopting out any animal, I certainly would NEVER consider someone from the internet that I had never met, had never visited their home or done followup visits, and didn’t know them from Adam. How foolish and dangerous. Again, for all we know, you are one of those horrible, cruel persons looking to get cats so you can then turn around and either sell them as bait to train fighting dogs and be torn apart, or sell them to a lab for experimentation, all the while undergoing horrendous tortures without any anesthesia. Or you could be a member of some strange cult that sacrifices black cats. NO WAY would I ever consider anyone soliciting on the internet!

  4. There are too many young black cats at local shelters that can’t find a new home so I’m sure you will be able to find one there that would love to adopt you :-)
